If you do NOT have passing Semester 2 grades by Friday, 5/12, in any of the courses you MUST have to graduate, you will be REQUIRED to attend Senior Recovery Bootcamp the week of 5/15-19 in order to work on your courses and earn those credits!

Seniors....We are aware the Grad App opened this morning; however, seniors will NOT see Guidance clearance until the evening of May 12th. Godby, TCC and Lively semester two grades will not be finalized until this date and we must confirm grades/credits.

Also, students who fail semester 2 classes needed for graduation must recover those courses at the Senior Plato Recovery Bootcamp beginning Monday, May 15th at Godby. This would also prevent clearance until these course credits are earned.

Just some info about College/University Application Fee Waivers.............

The waivers you can receive are tied to you taking ACT and/or SAT.

If you have taken ACT at least once, you get 4 college/university app waivers. Same for SAT.

ACT waivers are on paper. You must get them from your counselor.
SAT waivers are electronic and on your CollegeBoard account. Login, search for "college application fee waivers" and they should pull up for you to use the numbers. Be sure to make note of which number you use for which school application so you don't duplicate a number 🙂

What this means:

FSA

The TCC Wakulla Center is hosting a FREE Social Media & Cyberbullying Awareness workshop this Saturday 10/16 at 10am. During the workshop, both parents and children will have the opportunity to learn about the importance of social media safety and the growing threat of cyberbullying. According to statistics from the i-SAFE Foundation, over half of adolescents and teens have been bullied online or engaged in cyberbullying, with parents remaining unaware since nearly half of all young people do not inform them when it occurs.

This is a scholarship award program partnering with local Leon County area public and private high schools and World Class Schools of Leon County. A student's record of community service is the most important element of this application process. Successful applicants will have a strong history of service activities and have consistently contributed to their school and community throughout their high school career grades 9-12.

Apply online now for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship. This scholarship program rewards Florida high school graduates for academic achievement and community service.

You should apply for the Bright Futures Scholarship even if you are NOT planning to attend a Florida college. If you later transfer to a Florida college for any reason, this money will be available to you. As we all learned this year, it’s best to be prepared for an uncertain future.

The OASIS Girls Circle is an 8-12 week group for girls 9-18 years of age. It is designed to foster self esteem, help girls maintain authentic and healthy connections with peers, counter trends toward self doubt, and allow for genuine self-expression through verbal sharing and creative activity.

If you are interested in joining a group at your high school, please see a counselor in the Guidance Suite for an Intake packet that would need to be completed and returned to Guidance. Someone from OASIS would contact you regarding details after the packet has been turned in.

FREE 24/hr. on demand tutoring for ALL students!

We are very excited to announce a new product the district has secured to help students while at home. FEV Tutor, contracted through Edmentum, is a 24/hr FREE for LCS students resource. ALL students can use this resource at ANY time!

Students can schedule a tutor session in advance, or they can request on-demand help at any time. Students access the tutor through their Classlink, and all students are being shown how to use the tool through by their math teacher.

Seniors, if you do NOT have a passing score for the FSA ELA and you missed testing this week, you will be scheduled for make-up testing soon! Check with Mrs. Forehand to be sure you know when you test!

If you do NOT have a passing score for the Alg 1 EOC (or an equivalent score), you will be testing NEXT week (week of 9/20)! Your first period teacher will have that list, so be at school ON TIME every day!
